Nests, a graduation and other things

Some of you I am sure know that I spend a lot of time outside sitting on my porch. I love sitting in the fresh air and the quiet. Last weekend I discovered that a bush in my garden was being used by a Mama bird I had noticed that there was a lot of activity there last week and decided to do some investigation.

It's a tricky spot to get to. I've been peaking into the nest with my camera every few days or so.

I was so excited to find it full of eggs the other day. I have been trying to get a shot of the Mama on the nest but she is having none of that, She is very shy. I am trying not to disturb her too much as I know she has important work to do. I am hoping to have some chicks soon!

In the last few weeks I have not been feeling as great as I had in between my chemo treatments. I had been feeling dizzy, light headed and just not my self. During my last cycle of chemo my blood work came back and it showed that I was anemic. My Doctor said he would keep an eye on it but was concerned. I got some blood work done on Wednesday and just as I was getting home an hour later, my doctor's office called and said that my blood counts were extremely low and I needed to come back and be admitted overnight to the hospital to received a blood transfusion. I was really upset about it and a little scared too, but Hubs and I headed into the hospital and I was comfortably sitting in my bed about an hour later. After a very long night and three units of blood later I am feeling much much better. I didn't realize how bad I felt until I felt better. It's funny how that happens. Our goal was to be out of the hospital by Miss E's graduation Thursday at 4:00. I was able to go to Miss E's graduation the next day. I was so proud of her she worked extremely hard and she received two awards. I was a very proud Mama to say the least.

I am not however ready for her to go to high school. It's going to take me all summer to get used to the idea!

A Package!

I got a package yesterday, from France. I won an advent contest on Lineanongrata.

When I saw it on the counter after getting home from school pick-up I was so excited! I just had to open it to see what was inside.

 

French stamps are so.....French!

 

This is what was inside,but wait there is something more! This is just the bag it came in, isn't it pretty?

 

And here is what was inside! It is a Julia original. I love it. I am going to keep my camera in it. It fits perfectly!

I love blogging, it makes me happy! Thank you Julia!

The Winter Blahs

I think I officially have the winter blahs. I am not a winter person. I am constantly cold and tend to want to hunker down and stay at home.

 

Sadie is helping out a bit. It doesn't help that I am really enjoying my book that I am reading.

   

Once and a while the kids will do something to break up the blahs a bit.
