From my garden

We finally got our garden in a few weeks ago, It went in a bit late but we are starting to see some veggies sprouting.

I love watching my garden grow, checking it everyday to see it's progress. thinking about how good the produce will taste. There is nothing like eating a tomato right from the vine.

This year I planted a watermelon plant. I just love how fuzzy it is. We are hoping to be in watermelon up to our ears.   

While watering my garden the other day I found this guy perched on my hydrangea plant next to the water valve on the house. He is a tiny little thing, I am hoping he is eating all the bad bugs for me.   

Not disappointed

I was a little worried when I got my new camera that I would not be able to get good macro shots from it. I have heard a lot of people say that about their Nikon SLR cameras.

 

 
 
  
 So far I have not been too disappointed.  

Thankful

The weather outside is rainy, dreary and cold. I need some brightness in my day.

 
I found so much color outside in the last few days of sunshine. Fall is in full swing and the trees are blazing with color.

   


 
The girls are finally all back at school after a week of H1N1. They did not have really bad cases, thank goodness. Little E had it the worst, she bounced back well though. I am thankful for my healthy kids today,

My new best friend

I think since I got my new D60 I have taken 1000 photos, at least. experimenting with my settings, and trying to figure everything out. I am not quite there yet but loving every minute of it. Here are some of the pictures I have taken so far.

 

 
 

 
The macro setting on my new toy is not what my point and shoot is, I am trying to stand back a bit and get a feel for it. It is amazing to me the amount of editing I don't have to do with this camera. I am loving it though and look forward to each day and what I can find to photograph.

Hydrangea

Still full of life, and color
