Port Removal

I am experiencing a bit of anxiety about my port removal. I talked to the surgeon this morning and he usually takes them out with a local anesthetic. Um How is that possible? I mean it is in there under my skin and he wants to just cut it out of me and pull it???????? Yikes!!!! After I talked to him I got a bit dizzy and  needed to sit down. I am thinking that I am going to be a mess that day! It is funny how your mind works huh? Ok I am strong and I can do this right?

Any body else get their port out this way? Plese tell me it is no big deal. I was counting on going to sleep and waking up after it was out already!

Only One More Treatment Left!

I am home and feeling well. Chemo made me feel really tiered today. I napped through most of it. The upside is that It went by really fast. I am going to snuggle up with a book tonight and go to be early.

Tomorrow's Chemo

 

Well tomorrow I have chemo. I am excited actually. After tomorrow I can say "Only one more treatment left!" I am ready to graduate. To get on with my life. I will still be a cancer patient but it will feel good to be finished.

Hopefully it will be uneventful. I have my book and some magazines and snacks all ready to go. I will let you all know how it goes! :)

Some Good Advice

Yesterday when I got my shot I was really afraid that I would get my bone pain back. After my last chemo treatment and shot I was very sore and achy for three days. I was very nervous about getting my shot this time. While I was waiting to get my shot I was chatting with the nurse and was telling her about the pain I had last time. She said to try Motrin this time instead of Tylenol and that if I did I would not need any pain medication. Well it worked! I have been a bit stiff but feel so much better than I did last time. Boy am I relieved. I wish they would have given me this advice last time. It would have saved me a lot of pain. Oh well now I know. I only have two treatments left. I am so excited to be finished with my chemo.

I'm Home

I am glad to be home and am feeling good. I am a bit tired but that's it. I was able to put my shot off until Sunday so I will not be sore until Monday.  Everything went smoothly and I came home to lots of hugs and smiles. The kids even made a little video song for me!

We are gearing up for crabs tonight to celebrate graduations for MES  from college and LCD from 8th grade. Everyone is waiting for the crabs to arrive. It will be our first crabs of the season. (I wish I could have some :( )
