I'm off to the YSC conference!

 

I'm off on an adventure. My first flight in 13 years (I'm a little nervous!). I am flying to Atlanta Georgia to attend the Annual YSC Conference for young women affected by breast cancer. I am heading down a day early to stay and visit with Two of Hubby's sisters who live in Atlanta. Four other ladies from my support group are attending too. I am also really excited about meeting some women I have only "met" on-line and have not met in person. My bags are all packed and I'm ready to go!

We're expecting snow tomorrow so cross your fingers that I catch my flight on time!

The natives are getting restless

All the animals are getting restless, because of the snow they can't get around and stretch their legs out much. Especially the goats.

They have been doing a lot of head butting and running around but can only go in the paths made by Arial.

Cocoa is still standing at the fence. I was afraid that she would jump out the snow was so high. It's melted a bit so I think she wont' be jumping out anytime soon.

Arial has been a bit frisky too, jumping around and bucking to get some exercise.

I am looking forward to it all melting but I'm not looking forward to the mud to come!  

One Step closer

It's my birthday today and I am one step closer to being an old lady. As a cancer survivor my goal is to get to be an old lady.

I am planning on spending the day eating chocolate, drinking a latte and having a nice pasta dinner with a big glass of wine and  Best of all enjoy my family!

Did I say I was going to eat chocolate? Yeah I am already on my way :)

Enjoying the Quiet

Don't get me wrong I love love my kids, but frankly I am really enjoying the quiet today. It's been a long time since the girls were in school and I am going to enjoy every minute of my day!

There is only so much a Mama can take of the TV and little computer hijackers. Finally I get some computer time!

I think I will be grinning all day! 

Happy Birthday to my Blog!

Two years ago today my blog was born. I had no idea then what I was getting into, how blogging would effect my life in so many ways. At that time I was recovering from my mastectomy surgery and had a lot of time on my hands. I had found a several blogs that Iliked and thought I would like to have a blog myself. I talked to my friend and neighbor Molly about her blog and finally got up the nerve to start my own. My blog helped me through a very tough time in my life. I made so many connections with people who were all routing for me and it also gave my family and friends a way to keep up with my cancer journey. My blog has changed a lot this year and I am really happy about the way it has transformed. Before I talked a lot about cancer, pain and anxiety. Now my blog is full of my photography and recipes.

The friendships I have made have been so wonderful and it is amazing to me what a supportive community we all have here out in the blogoshere.
