Arials big adventure

 

This week sometime Arial will be off on an adventure. She is going to the farm where she had her training this past fall.

 

The lady who did her training has two daughters, and their pony is out of commission. They loved Arial so much they want to lease her and ride her all summer.

 

Miss H tries to get two rides in a week on her but she is almost too big for her, and Little E is not advanced enough for Arial. She is still a beginner and Arial is very green. So she will go off sometime this week and will be ridden every day. She will get lots of riding time and it will be a good deal all around.

 

I am going to miss all of my evening nuzzles and spa sessions. But I can visit anytime I need to and Little E can still ride her when ever she wants.

I think she will miss her scratches and peppermints the most though.

or the bold bright pink.

 

I could just take pictures of them all day.

 

 

After yesterday's rain they are all falling over with heavy tops, drooping to the ground.

   

My roses are about to pop! I can't wait........

Porch smackdown

This weekend I took a step back from my computer. From Blogging and blog reading. I had a nice long holiday weekend just enjoying the beautiful weather, gardening and reading on the front porch. I have a posse that follows me around while I am doing what I do. A four footed posse.

 

They have very different personalities. Like night and day.

 

Chloe who is my white shadow just sits with me to keeps me company. Coming over for a scratch behind the ears once and a while. If I have a snack or a glass of cold tea she sits and waits and hopes for crumbs to fall.

 

Sadie on the other hand is all action all the time. Staring me down with those big brown eyes, waiting for me to throw her ball.

Well it was peaceful most of the time, not too many smackdowns. I did enjoy my book and my quiet time. I even managed to elude my family for a while, sitting around the corner of the porch so I was not visable from the front door.

An Anniversary

Today my wonderful hubby and I are celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary. We had our wedding at our family farm in the yard. It was a beautiful day sunny and warm with friends and family gathered around us.

 

The farm that I grew up on once belonged to my husband's family. That made it even more special. Remember I told you in a post that my Dad shot off  our canon at my wedding? You can see the canon in this picture.

 

It was truly a very happy day. I married the love of my life and my best friend. I love him even more today then I did at this moment. We have been through a lot together. He has been my rock to lean on. I can't imagine a life without him. He is the most amazing father too. What more could a girl ask for?

Last year I was not really able to celebrate much. Tonight we are going out on a date. dinner and a movie. We have not been out to dinner since my hair has come back. I can't wait! We are going to our favorite Italian place. I am saving up all my calories for pasta and dessert!

A Promise Kept

I made a deal with Little E a couple of weeks ago. If she cantered in her riding lesson I would take a video and post it on my blog. After the big accidental jump incident two weeks ago she got a bit shy about cantering. She was trotting fast to get used to the faster pace and she was not steering her pony very well and was not paying attention. Her pony popped over a  not so small jump and it kind of scared her a bit. She stayed on the whole time but was definitely thwarted by the whole experience.

Yesterday at lessons though her instructor had her all ready to roll. With out much coaxing she did it! (this is actually the second time, the first time I did not have my camera ready *bad Mommy*)

I thought she did an excellent job for her first few steps in the canter. She got a bunch of high fives from the bigger girls which made her very happy.

 

Back at the barn she took care of little Sliver Charm and brushed her. She was sweaty after all her "hard" work.

 

 

I am excited to see what happens next week! I will keep you all posted.
