Today I went on a field trip with Little E's first grade class to Fair Hill Nature Center. It was not a day of great weather, it drizzled off and on all day. Even though the weather was not great we had a wonderful time.
As we wound down the long lane we passed by all of the training center barns. One of which Barbaro lived. His brother Nicanor now calls Fair Hill Training Center his home. He resides in Barbaro's old stall in the same barn as his brother lived.
When we arrived we split up into small groups and began our hike.
There were so many things to see. It seemed like everywhere we turned there was something else to spy.
These little goslings were only days old, and here they are already swimming!
The trails were breathtakingly beautiful even in the gloomy weather.
Each of the kids had a button pinned to them with a different animal on it. Little E's animal was a fish. They were supposed to try and find their animal and think the way their animal thinks. They had a little costume for her to put on to show what fish are like. So she was a fish, she even had gills!
And googly eyes. She made an excellent fish!
We also got to see two salamanders, and a deer carcass (which all the boys loved).
There were a lot of things to see and do on the trail. We even got to see some horses on a trail ride.
There were so many wild flowers on the trail.
It was a wonderful day!
What an absolutely gorgeous part of the world.

What a lovely time it looks like you had. Such sights! Love the fish impression, very realistic! The covered bridge is something that is not common here in the west. I would love to see one in person.
