Last weekend it was hot hot hot! 92 degrees, in April! We spent a lot of time outside working on my flowerbeds and we finally got the veggie garden started. During the day on Sunday we saw a total of 5 Bald Eagles flying above us as we worked and played. The kids even got to see them. It was very exciting! Of course I did not have my camera with me at the time!
This is what we started with.
I have learned through out the years that this garden cover saves me a lot of time and energy! No weeds for me.
This is my secret ingredient can you guess what it is?
I got just about everything planted and even got my tomato cages up. Tempest and Arial watched the whole time.
I planted onion sets this year. I cant wait to see how they take off, or not.
My supervisor approved all of the work done, after a romp in the sprinkler.
With Little E.
Landscape fabric! Now why didn't I think of that? Looks like your garden will be great!

I think your horse may want to get a bite of that garden.....I see her snooping in the back ground! She wants to know what you are doing with her poop! (that IS what the secret ingredient is, isn't it?)

This must be the best idea ever. To cover the ground so the weeks can't grow. Maybe I'll try to grow some vegetables that way. Up to now I thought I wouldn't this year because I want my time for more illustration. But maybe, possibly maybe, with some black tarp...
Thanks for the idea !

Hello Sarah, you're going to have a wonderfully productive veg patch there! Love your new banner, and the new photo that shows up with you comments. Thank you for being so supportive of my doodles!

Good garden. I like your perspective shots. Remember running through sprinklers?

I'm coming by to eat one of those tomatoes this summer. And my little Sarah has the same swimsuit as Little E! So cute.
