Well I get the airhead Mommy award for the year. I bought Little E a big stuffed pony for Christmas, and the other day I was thinking about it. I didn't remember her playing with it. I do tend to forget things once and a while, but have never done this before. It left my mind again until Sunday. I remembered that I did not give it too her for Christmas, and that it must still be hidden somewhere.
Well it was a really good hiding place but I finally found it! She loved it of course, being the horse lover that she is.
I feel really bad that I forgot about it though. Sorry Little E!
Her name is Bella.
I am thinking I should have held it back for her birthday next month, but I could not bare the thought of it being forgotten again.
She looks like a happy camper with her new pony!

I'll just bet she is enjoying it as much or more now than at Christmas. We all love gifts throughout the year even if there's no occasion for it...

I bought Emma a whole bunch of clothes, hid them and didn't find them until the end of the summer when I was putting away stuff for winter. It makes you feel really silly for forgetting, but we all do it.

Oh my goodness...I thought I was the only one who did this :) I bought our grandson several books for Christmas. I forgot all about them until this past weekend...when I found them stashed away in a drawer. I agree with Blue Ridge Gal. Sometimes the best gifts are given for no reason at all. Little E looks quite happy with her pony. It is probably more meaningful now than it would have been at Christmas.

I did this a few years ago with my daughter. I bought her a dvd she'd been wanting, hid it, and forgot to give it to her for her birthday. I remembered it a few months later when she was saying she wished she had Robin Hood. I said, you do have it! but of course, she just didn't *know* she had it, because I had left it hidden in the closet!

That's so funny - especially as last week my Pete finally found the watch that I had bought him for Christmas!
