In my blog travels in the last few weeks I have been viewing posts with pictures of flowers and buds and green. These things had not come to Maryland yet, I have been patiently waiting. Yesterday when I was on my way to pick the girls up from school I spyed something at the end of our lane. In front of the little house ruin across the road.
I felt silly running across the road and bending down to take the pictures as cars passed. I am sure they thought I was crazy. But I am an obsessed blogger, and I must get the shot. Luckily I travel with my camera at ALL times.
I just love these snowdrops. So small yet resilient, sometimes even popping through the snow. White and green and beautiful. Understated and shy, with there blooms bent down towards the ground. Reminding me of myself a bit. Struggling to stand up even though it is difficult sometimes. Standing even though you have to peak up through the cold and the snow. Standing strong but not alone.
A small sign of spring but a welcomed one.
I LOVE that little house and the Snowdrops.

That house is wonderful!
We've had our first crocus here - now I'm on the hunt for snow drops, my second favorite sign of spring!
Good luck in March's contest! You certainly have a great chance of winning.

Thanks for visiting Willow House and taking the time and trouble to leave a comment.
Snowdrops are lovely aren't they? You must have been on your hands and knees to get these photographs!
I looked back at the earlier post about the ruin and it reminded me that there is a lengend here in England that growing snowdrops in a place where tragedy has occured will "cleanse" the area.
Appropriate to this burned out building maybe?

I love the photo of the little house on this post......did you do something to it in PS?
I would dearly love to know how you got your flower pic to so neatly fit across your title page.....that stumps me!

What beautiful photos that exactly capture the charm of the first snowdrops - I am so glad that Spring has finally arrived in Maryland - it has been such a long winter.
