Today was one of those days when I am a very proud Mama. The day started out with Little E waking up with pink eye. I felt so bad for her I knew she was uncomfortable. I called it into school to let them know about her being absent. The receptionist said "I guess you will not make it to the awards assembly today?" I said no. She hung up and I thought nothing of it. A half an hour later she called back and said that I might want to get someone to watch Little E because she thought I SHOULD be there. "As a mother I am telling you that you would want to be there, that is all I can say". Can I just say I love my kids school?
Well I was intrigued, what could it be? I had an idea but was not completely sure. I got my husband to cover for me at home and got to school just in time. I was nervous during the whole assembly. Little E got the perfect attendance award, but she was absent, it was a bit ironic.
As the assembly continued Big E was called up for her awards first honors, computer and perfect attendance, I was very proud. At the end of the assembly they give out a very special award. It is called the SJA award and it is given to one middle school student and one lower school student from the whole school. Big E got it for the middle school. To win the award you must show good citizenship, kindness, good friendship, and must be a good student. I was so very proud of her. I tried to take a picture of her but the lighting was all wrong in the church.
Afterwords I tried to take her picture and she glared at me and said not here Mom! I felt like the paparazzi. God forbid if I embarrass her in front of her friends!
We stopped for ice cream on the way home.......
I gave her lots of high fives and hugs. She came home and did her homework, being the conscientious student that she is.
Way to go Big E, We are so proud!
Miss H got second honors yesterday in an assembly at her school. Parents are not allowed to attend. She wouldn't want me there anyway, To much parental embarrassment.
YAY ME!!!!! It brought to much attention though!!!!
