2009 Relay for life, Join me to fight for a cure!

 

Less then 24 hours after posting about my relay for life page here and on Face book I have exceeded my funds raising goal of $500! So far as of 12:00 pm Thursday I have raised $520.00. I am the third top fund raiser from my county and my BCAUSE group has jumped to second place for total fund raised. Thank you for every one who has supported me! I have raised my goal to $1000. I hope to exceed this goal too.

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. It offers everyone in a community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Relays are an overnight event, up to 24 hours in length.

Relay For Life is a life-changing event that brings together more than 3.5 million people to:

• Celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer. The strength of survivors inspires others to continue to fight.
• Remember loved ones lost to the disease. At Relay, people who have walked alongside people battling cancer can grieve and find healing.
• Fight Back. We Relay because we have been touched by cancer and desperately want to put an end to the disease.

Why BCAUSE? (Breast Cancer And U Support and encouragement)

We must, Breast Cancer

Warriors we are, working every day to manage our lives while fighting this disease.

Particularly those (younger then age 45) struggle with the deep issues of career and family.

Workplaces may not admit to it, but do expect employees to carry out their responsibilities without interruption or great costs..and cancer does present many problems.

Relationships don't just come along...they require disclosure, nurturing and patience. Friends and family are significantly impacted by this dreaded disease also.

Breast Cancer And U Support and Encouragement, is one way some young women in Harford and Baltimore County are striking back at cancer. Meeting monthly in a group/facilitated setting, they seek new ways to cope with their disease, while demonstrating strength and commitment to helping others.

BCAUSE team looks forward to participating in Relay for Life and invites you to join our in the fight against Breast Cancer... Assist those affected, explore prevention and research for a cure! 

The strain Breast Cancer puts on us is great, but will not force us to look the other direction. 

Why do we Relay? BCAUSE we are warriors, we will press on and we will prevail!
