We went out to the Maryland State Fair this morning to see a friend show her lambs. We went into an exhibit for the department of natural resources. They had a grouping of birds there that were very beautiful.
I just could not keep my eyes off this owl. I have never seen one this close up before. We have two owls that live here on Spruce Hill. If you go outside in the evening you can hear them talking to each other. We have seen them quite a few times but never up close in full view. The kids got a kick out of seeing what Hootie and Jootie look like.
We think our owls are a mating pair. They like living here because we live on property that used to be a Christmas tree farm, and we have a large creek nearby. From the research we have done we know that owls like to live in pine trees because they are evergreen.
They also had a baby too! Cute huh?
Oh! They are truly magnificent birds, I really love owls. How lucky ya'll were to see them so close :D
