I got home yesterday afternoon around 4:00. Everything went well. I am in little pain and am up and about. I slept pretty well last night too. The pain meds help out with that a bit. So here I sit on the couch recovering again. Hopefully this will be it. I have been taking some time to research chemo a bit. I found that all the things out there on the net were too scary to read. I found my self getting more worried than I should. So for now I am just focusing on getting better. Not more research for a while.

I got this hat from my Sister-in-Law MSD yesterday in the mail. I felt I needed to share it with everyone. I love it. It is so me. When my hair falls out I will wear this hat with pride. My day is not complete with out chocolate as most of you probably know. I am also not a quitter:)

Today's Surgery

I am all ready to go and get this over with. After today I can relax a bit and I have 4 weeks of just being. I slept really well last night and I feel good. I am not sure if I will post tomorrow. I will let everyone know how I do today. Maybe HES can type for me. We will see.

New Cyber Friends

I have had the privilege of making a few new friends out there in cyber space. People that I may have ever met if I did not have a blog. There are a lot of breast cancer bloggers out there reaching out to those who need support or just be someone to listen. I think it is so great. Thanks girls! Keep blogging. It really does make a difference:)

I'm out and about

I am driving! Yesterday I was bound and determined to get out by myself. I sent my girls off to school and then got ready. It was exciting. I felt independent for the first time in weeks. I got in my huge Mommy mobile that guzzles lots of gas and I was off. I gave one of my Starbucks buddies (SF) a call and it was all planned out in less than 2 minutes. I arrived at Starbucks unscathed. I admit I was a bit nervous about merging into traffic for the first time. (not that traffic around here is that busy) I was mostly nervous about being able to move my arms quick enough and be able to look both ways etc. It was a cinch. I walked into my Starbucks at which before surgery I frequented just about every day ( the baristas all know what I will order before I speak and make it as soon as my shadow reaches the door).  It was so nice to walk in the door. I had a sense of normalcy and independence. I did it! I sat down in my usual spot and conversed with one of my many starbucks acquaintances. He was wondering were I had been. I told him everything that had happened in the last 3 weeks or so. He was so glad to see me and was so glad to see I was doing so well. My three Starbucks buds showed up shortly there after. I had so much fun! Thanks guys! I really missed our weekly Mommy gab-sessions.

Today I am off to Target with my friend KP and my God daughter CWP. I am so excited. Target IS my favorite store. Where else can you go and get just about anything you could possibly want? Groceries, clothing, cosmetics, household items. It makes me so happy. For those that do not know, normally I am there at least twice a week. So Here is to doing "normal" things and being independent.

Spring is coming!

                                              

Daffodils are coming up on spruce Hill! I found several poking up out of the ground today during my walk. I just needed to get out of the house. It is so sunny and warm outside. I could not take another moment in the house. I think the couch has a permanent dent where I have been sitting. I had a bit of a "moment" this morning. I spent another sleepless night watching old movies on TV and wondering when sleep would find me. I finally fell back to sleep around 6:00 AM. When I woke back up at 9:00 AM I felt sore and stiff. All I could think about was "How much longer am I gonna feel crappy?". A week, a month? The thought of facing surgery on Thursday is frustrating me! So I had my moment. I got it all out. I have not had one in about a week so I guess I was due for one. Afterwords I picked up my camera and headed out.  Finding the daffodils made my day. I can't wait for my garden to start blooming. I am looking forward to planting my veggie garden. Spring is just around the corner!
